Hi friends and family! It's been awhile since I've been on here. We have had a CRAZY last few weeks to say the least. I plan on doing a blog post soon with updates on what happened. The short version is, I came dangerously close to losing my life last week due to hemorrhaging. Something happens to me postpartum that the doctors can't seem to figure out. We miscarried in August and think this is tied to that. ANYWAY, that's the short version. Like I said, I'd like to do a longer post in the future. But right now I want to focus on the little pumpkin that's going to be ONE soon!
Isla's birthday is coming up next Wednesday (how?!?!). We can't wait to celebrate her little life.
This last week, I had a hard time going out after my scare. I've had really bad anxiety about the whole thing and keep having anxiety and panic attacks (so crippling!). But we finally did it and went to the pumpkin patch with our friends on Wednesday. I've kind of become the "mom" of our mom's group. I plan outings and mom's nights. So this time I planned to go to Rader's Family Farm and felt, since I had planned it, that we should probably go. Well, we did it! And we all survived :)
Mom's group has been life-giving for me in this transition to motherhood. Knowing that there are other mamas who deal with the same issues makes me feel not so crazy all the time. Most of our kiddos are around the same age, so it is so fun to watch them grow together.
I will say, Isla seems to be the boss of the group. She gets right in the other baby's faces and starts talking very firmly to them. Shades of me. Little miss independent has no problem telling them how it is. Here are some pictures from our trip!

Ready to go!
Not a great shot, but I love having pictures with Isla. Someday she'll look back and say, "oh! my mom was actually there". For real though. Proof of mom is important.
She would not stand still long enough for me to get her height. We'll find out at her one year appointment how tall she actually is. Compared to her friends, she seems like a short baby.
Silly baby!
Everything to her is a "dog dog". We saw a "horse dog dog", a "donkey dog dog", and a "goat dog dog". It is pretty cute how excited she gets around animals. And she sticks her tongue out and pants like a dog when she sees them too!
Isla is so expressive and vocal. I notice it, but 3 other moms told me that too while we were there. I love her friend Skylar, next to her. She is thinking, "what is wrong with that baby?!" And she likes to touch all her friends (might be a problem in the future). Her little friend Bode (right of her) doesn't have much hair. Isla was petting his head while they played and kept getting down in his face and patting him on the back. Michael said she was probably saying, "it's ok buddy, someday you'll have a mullet like me!" haha She also likes to grab onto her little friends while she talks to them (just like her great grandpa Ampa).
We had such a fun day!
