It's been awhile. We've been busy playing outside as much as possible and that leaves little time for anything indoors (like sitting down to blog). But it's probably time to play catch-up. I like blogging because it's fun to look back and see what we have done. It's like a little time capsule. I just need to be more diligent about doing it!
Here's what we have been up to lately:
Lots and lots and lots of outdoor time. We THRIVE outside. Our attitudes and moods are so much happier. My kids can regulate themselves quicker, they can relax and enjoy the freedom of outside, and all around it calms their bodies. While we really wanted land, our half acre lot has proven to be plenty of space for us. And now that we are getting closer to summer, every night has become a bath night. My kids are constantly dirty and always up for an adventure. It has been so fun!
When we are inside, we are reading, crafting, baking, and playing. Isla really wants to learn to read, so we slowly work at that too. We spend a LOT of time reading, which is the best way to spend time indoors anyway, in my opinion.
We celebrated Easter with both sides of the family. I'm so glad we have a big enough house to host everyone now. It was a fun day! Easter weekend started with a zoo trip with our cousin, Easton, and ended with an egg hunt at Nana's house. We love our family time!
Mimi and Bupa stuck around after Easter and we got to spend a few days with them too. We went to the Children's museum and had a tea party with Mimi for her (belated birthday) at the Mackinaw Tea Depot. Isla was thrilled to have her very own (large) slice of chocolate cake :)
For Mother's Day, we enjoyed ANOTHER tea party with Nana and Amma at her facility. It was such a fun morning. I was impressed with Isla's ability to carry on conversation with just about anyone :) And apparently, I dressed Isla in the same exact outfit for this tea party as the last one (oops).
Now we are getting ready for all things summer! Swimming, staying up late, mini vacations, play dates with friends, music in the park, and everything else we love to do in warm weather. We can't wait :)
