Last week was hopefully the last of the hot weather (although I saw a few 80 degrees sprinkled in this weekend). We took a trip to Rader's Farm with Nana and Pop Pop, had our usual mom's group, had an extra fun play date with some friends, and became super snuggly all of a sudden. Isla has been kissing, hugging, and patting Michael and me. It's so sweet. She even started snuggling stuffed animals (and Michael's slippers haha). Here are some pictures from last week.
Thanks for the ride Pop Pop!

This is Isla's new favorite thing! She LOVES this book about a puppy collecting acorns. I finish reading it and she turns back to the front and looks at me as she waits for me to read it again. She listens the entire time and usually screams "dog dog" when we get to this page (in the picture). We also finished our 1,000 books before kindergarten and get to turn that in this week. This girl loves to read already and I'm so happy about that!

We went on a playdate with some friends. Three different moms at different times noted how smart and vocal Isla is :) I also noticed how differently she handles sharing compared to other babies her age. Obviously none of them know what the concept of sharing is, but Isla is pretty vocal. If a toy gets taken from her or she wants a toy another little friend has, she will scream in their face. Most babies her age will passively let the toy be taken or will gently try to take something. Not Isla. She knows exactly what she wants and isn't afraid to tell you. I'm choosing to embrace her independence and look forward to the fun work ahead in regards to sharing :)
I love these new little snuggles. Here she is snuggling my Charlie dog. I got Charlie when I had facial reconstruction in 1993. Charlie was my best bud and he slept with me every night. Isla loves dog dogs and I'm so glad she loves to snuggle my Charlie dog.
