Memorial Weekend and Current Pictures

I think it is finally summer! We had a family-filled Memorial Weekend. It was great to have Aunt "Rah Rah" and Uncle Trevor in town. And it was warm enough to get in the pool! Even though it's really difficult to live so far away from my family and I often struggle with that, it's so nice to have Michael's family in town. Nana and Pop Pop are a huge blessing to our family. Here are some pictures from the weekend:

Can you spot all 3 babies in this picture? Sarah and I are having boys in August. Our due dates are 2.5 weeks a part!

Other things that have been going on: we finished up our "ocean unit", we finished planting our garden, daddy built Isla an outdoor workspace, and we've been spending most of our days outside!

Isla has enjoyed learning about the ocean. She can identify most of these animals on the wall now. Her favorite is the "octi" (octopus).

We looked at a picture of a coral reef, talked about the colors, and then she created her own reef!

Chives anyone? Isla pulls these off and eats them straight from the garden. This plant comes back as a monster every year, so I'm glad someone's eating it.

It only took a couple days, but Isla can now get up the slide, swing her legs around, and slide down all by herself! She was nervous at first and needed my help, but now she's proud of herself!

Isla LOVES to paint. She usually says "meant meant" (which means paint) multiple times a day. Daddy built this little workspace for her to play outside. She's painted, played with mud, washed it with water, pruned her little plant, and more.

I swear these two have their own language.

If it were up to Isla, we'd read all day. I love her love for reading and books. After she has her breakfast (which she wakes up asking for), she usually brings books out into the living room to have her VERY exhausted mama start reading to her. From there, we just read all day long when we can.

Nana has been busy during quarantine too. She made this cute shirt for Isla. Isla kept saying "nana shirt nana shirt" as she wore it.

Isla is pretty excited to move into her big girl room soon. She likes to hang out in the closet with her buddies. This is how I found her.

I'm feeling large and achy every day, but hanging in there :) We are about 3 months away from meeting our Bubba boy!
