It's hard to believe we were in shorts and tanktops two weeks ago and then it snowed last week and now it's going to be 80 this week. Where are you spring?! Well, either way, we've had a lot of fun playing outside. Isla is always busy, busy, busy!
Her new favorite activity has been digging for worms. She likes to put them in the bucket "where they can all be friends". She is also quick to point out every single dried worm on the driveway and needs to examine every single one every single time :)
We recently had a visit with cousin Easton, Aunt Rah Rah, and Uncle Trevor. It was so fun to see the boys together. I hope they are the best of buds someday. We even took a little trip to the zoo!
Like usual, Isla has been crafting and cooking :)
We have gone to Sugar Grove, our nearby nature preserve, a few times recently. We spend a lot of time there. Studies show the more exposure a child has to the same outdoor space, the more in touch with nature they become. When they are comfortable with nature, they are more likely to take risks, observe changes, and play more intently. This also fosters a relationship with our planet and in turn builds that desire to take care of it. We love returning to the same spot at least once a week. It's even been warm enough to start playing in the creek!
We have started doing more with friends, especially outside. Isla loves her friends.
(the heart is for privacy)
Other than that, we've just been playing, eating, learning, shopping, and growing :)
Oh and Mr. Happy turned 8 months old. He is trying so hard to crawl, but just can't figure out how to go forward. He eats literally everything and LOVES meat. He is the happiest, jolliest little guy as long as he is being held. He has sprouted two teeth this month, which resulted in crappy sleep for everyone. But since turning 8 months, he's been sleeping until 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. before feeding. Then he usually just feeds one more time before getting up for the day around 6:30. That's been nice and I hope it stays that way. He's a big boy and I can't believe he's already 8 months!
