I will always love Michigan. Especially the lakes. We recently got back from our annual beach trip with my parents. It was a fun trip, but we were all exhausted! I read a meme that said "a vacation with kids is just a trip to another location where you still have tantrums and sleep problems". It's true!
The first two days were filled with clouds and colder weather, but Isla learned what white caps were and the fun of playing on a windy beach. We spent some time in town too while we waited for better weather. Isla even tried her first gelato. She asked for superman flavor because I told her that was one of my favorites as a kid. The view from the hot tub wasn't too bad either ;)
This was Ewan's first official Michigan-side beach trip (he has already been to the Indiana Dunes). He did NOT like the sand or the water really. I'm determined to turn him into a Michigan baby though. Maybe next year.
(sunscreening a sandy baby is a workout)
Isla had a BLAST though. We had a hard time peeling her off the beach.
If we weren't on the beach, we were spending a lot of time playing a new game my mom taught us, eating icy pops and good food, and hanging out in the hot tub that overlooked the lake too.
And of course, lots and lots and lots of swimming, castle-building, walking the beach, and playing as hard as possible.
Michael and I even got to go on a date! We visited the Round Barn and St. Julians for some beer/wine tastings then went to town for cannolis. We don't often get away together, so it was a nice surprise!
Isla would probably tell you the highlight of her trip was eating s'mores for the first time. She LOVED them and it sure was fun to indulge a little bit.
My babies on the shores of Michigan... nothing sweeter :)
Goodbye Michigan beach, until next year. And thanks Mom and Dad for a fun trip!
These pics are amazing, your babies are angels, I don't ever remembering seeing Michael with just a mustache before.
