Booms, Blueberries, and Beaches

July started with a BANG (quite literally) had BLUEBERRIES in the middle and ended with the BEACH. What a full month it has been!

Fourth of July is one of our favorite days! We had a big celebration at the Ready Ranch complete with fireworks, cousins, pool-watermelon, and golf cart rides. We totaled 11.5 hours outside and had such a fun time. Sarah said she hopes the kids always cherish our annual Fourth party and that it's a fun memory of theirs as they grow. I agree.

Following the celebrations, we had MORE pool time, spontaneous icecream stops, endless gardening and canning, library visits, late night backyard dancing, ampitheatre concerts, car shows with Pop Pop, garage sale lemonade/popsicle stands, and too many other summery things to count!

One of our July adventures and summer bucket list activities was blueberry picking! We met our cousins and spent the morning picking (*eating) as many blueberries as we could. We came home and made blueberry lemon jam, blueberry sauce, blueberry butter, and blueberry muffins. Isla told me that we might turn into a blueberry like Violet Beauregarde if we're not careful :)

To end the month, we took (another) trip to Michigan. We rented a house on Lake Michigan and spent the week playing in the sand, swimming in the white caps, soaking up the sun, and experiencing new things! I think the Great Lakes are hidden gems and I'm so glad my kids get to experience just how special they are.

    2. They were ;)
    3. He is supposed to wear them all the time, but getting a 3.5 year old to do that is difficult!
