Quarantine Week 1&2

Life in quarantine has been interesting. For us, not a whole lot has changed. In normal circumstances, we go out at least once a day so we both keep our sanity (library, target, the park, mom's group, etc.). So that has been an adjustment for us. The other difficult thing has been having daddy home. Isla can hear him downstairs and wants to spend time with him. She gets really upset when she can't be with him, but can hear him. He also has conference calls where we have to do our best to stay quiet in our very tiny home. It is pretty difficult. But we are very blessed to have paid work from home, food to eat, healthy bodies, and the ability to quarantine. Here are some pictures from our time during this pandemic:

We went grocery shopping the day before we found out this thing was about to get crazy. Isla liked helping. We've since gone to the store since then, but we are stocked enough to stay in for a long time now.

Going outside has been NECESSARY. Unfortunately, the weather hasn't been great. We did spend some time in the snow, which Isla loves!

She likes to eat the snow.

Exploring outside while I follow behind, sipping on my coffee.

We've had a little more screen time than I'd like to admit. She's been getting her molars and a canine, so she's not feeling well. On top of that, we are very cooped up and she's starting to feel it. Sometimes a little mind-numbing screen time calms us all down. Although, she usually only lasts about 10 minutes before jumping up and is ready to play again.

Sensory bins are keeping us all afloat.

Sourdough bread is our new favorite thing in this house. Isla likes helping me mix the dough and butter the bowl!

I came around the corner to find a snacking quarantined baby hahaha

Since Nana and Pop Pop have been quarantined too, we spent some time with them before the state mandated quarantine began.

And my new favorite picture of Isla is this one! When we say "smile, say cheese", this is the face we get. I love it so much. She's such a big girl.

Isla has never liked painting or things that get her hands messy. I held the brush while she moved my hand and she created this masterpiece. Then she took the brush and realized how fun it was to make her own strokes. Once the paint got on her hands, I had to reassure her it was ok to keep going. We are slowly making progress. Yesterday, she sat down and painted all by herself.

We've now been in quarantine for over 2 weeks. I imagine this will last at least another month or more. So stay tuned for more fun from inside our home haha
